Why Music?: Late Junction

25 September, 2015 @ 10:15 pm

Free

Max Reinhardt presents artists including Mara Carlyle, Afrikan Boy, Ghostpoet and Dave Okumu, performing original compositions from the Body of Songs project. He’s joined by Radio 1 DJ Gemma Cairney, who curated the project, inspired by the organs of the human body.

Each artist explores an organ, with the help of experts, to find out how it works and unlock its mysteries. Along the way they ask profound questions about their own lives, illness and disease, and age and suffering.

Speakers and performers

  • Mara Carlyle, English singer-songwriter
  • Afrikan Boy (Olushola Ajose), MC
  • Ghostpoet (Obaro Ejimiwe), singer-songwriter
  • Dave Okumu, singer-songwriter
  • Gemma Cairney, DJ
  • Max Reinhardt, broadcaster, musician and DJ

Body of Songs is supported by a Wellcome Trust Arts Award.

This event is FREE. Tickets will become available below from 11.00 on Friday 28 August.
