Crick Chat on Antibiotic Resistance

23 June, 2016 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Antibiotics are rapidly becoming ineffective. Their overuse and misuse has led to many bacteria developing resistance to them, and we are at risk of being taken back to the dark ages of medicine, where routine surgeries and minor infections become life-threatening once again.

In this Crick Chat, which is taking place during the MRC Festival of Medical Research, Luiz de Carvalho from the Francis Crick Institute, and Emily Wise from University College London Hospital, will discuss what is being done in the lab and the clinic, both here and abroad, to tackle this huge challenge.

Crick Chats are relaxed and friendly evening events that bring you face-to-face with researchers working at the Francis Crick Institute and our partner organisations.

Hear about their work, ask a burning question, or just enjoy a chat; Crick Chats are free and open to all. No knowledge of science is required.

Drinks and food will be available at the bar.
