One billion hungry

Food security is a pressing issue with over 1 billion people today suffering from chronic hunger. But the technology and techniques are being developed to combat it, such as the Orange Flesh Sweet potato, which contains higher amounts of vitamin A than the common African White Potato variety.

Professor Sir Gordon Conway has dedicated much of his career to work on sustainable agriculture, and has recently written the book One billion hungry: can we feed the world? Natascha Mehrabi caught up with Professor Conway after a lecture he gave at Imperial College.
