Imperial’s Broadsheet and I,Science magazines have both bagged prizes in the Association of British Science Writers (ABSW) Science Journalism Awards this year. Along with City’s magazine Science 151, Broadsheet and I,Science both received nominations for the ‘IOP student science publication award’. The winner and runner up were announced last night at an event held at the Royal Society for all nominees.
The awards was specifically for printed magazines, and we at I,Science submitted our issue on Time. I,Science, described by the judges as a ‘consistently good read’ received the runner-up prize, and Broadsheet, described as ‘a posh cream tea’ received the winners prize.
A huge thank you to everyone who has contributed to I,Science this year to make it such a strong student publication, either as a writer, or behind the scenes, and of course congratulations to everyone nominated and, in particular, the winners at Broadsheet.
Ben Stockton, editor of Broadsheet, was previously a frequent writer for I,Science, and you can see his articles here.
