Only Saturday tickets left!
The Ocean Film Festival World Tour is back for 2017 and will head to the Union Chapel (Highbury & Islington station), London, between the 16th and 21st October.
This event, which started in Australia, screens over 2 hours of the most inspirational, educational and entertaining films related to the ocean from independent filmmakers around the world. Six short films make part of this fourth festival edition, with a stated mission to inspire audiences to explore, respect, enjoy and protect the ocean. This unique selection of films of varying lengths and styles covers topics such as ocean adventure and exploration, the oceanic environment, marine creatures, ocean related sports and coastal cultures.
Therefore, no science per se may be to expect, apart from whalers turned citizen scientists (in “Whale Chasers”), uncovered marine biodiversity (in “The Legacy” and “Stay with Us”) and pushed limits of the human body (in “Fishpeople” and “Haven”). However, these limits include our shortcomings in trying to understand the world, which may precisely be when art meets and serves science, as it reveals, by other means, a sort of knowledge.
