Deaf Men Dancing and Francesca Martinez’s Wobbly Manifesto

22 June, 2016 @ 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm

£10

Dance company ‘Deaf Men Dancing’ and comedian Francesca Martinez present new works specially created as part of ‘Exceptional & Extraordinary’ project which combines the collections of medical museums with the work of performers and artists from the disability arts world.

LET US TELL YOU A STORY
Let Us Tell You A Story…is a new, highly original, multi-sensory dance production by Deaf Men Dancing (DMD) – known for their unique fusion of different styles of dance with sign language – that invites audiences on a journey to explore Deaf history and experiences of deafness in an entirely new way.

FRANCESCA MARTINEZ’S WOBBLY MANIFESTO
Francesca explores how humanity has chosen to handle (or not) disability over the decades and looks at how these attitudes have huge ramifications for all of us. By proposing her own Wobbly Manifesto, she invites us all to consider how embracing diversity as normal could, in fact, revolutionise the world we live in.

The performance starts at 7.30pm with a drinks reception from 6.30pm.
Tickets include a free alcoholic or soft drink on arrival (pay bar available for subsequent drinks).
